WOMEN SEASON IN THE HEAT

i love the heat. don't get me wrong. it's soooooo nice out. but where i work, in midtown, warm weather means open season on women. the best part about winter is the noteworthy reduction in sexual harassment on the street. summer is nice because it's nice out, but the extreme sexual harassment is crazy. you can't walk more than a few feet without some dirtbag commenting on your body, clothing or generally clicking and hissing at you. i want to print up business cards that look like you're giving someone your phone number which actually say that sexual harassment is harmful and dangerous and that one in every three women in the world is molested or raped in her lifetime and that this behavior creates the environment that allows that to happen the world over. luckily there's some great stuff going on to keep us a bit safer: www.RightRides.org www.nyc-rapemap.org www.vday.org
