New York changes. When I first moved in across the from the Candle Building, it sat there lonely and majestic, rife with legends of mafia owners and sinister connections. (I found out the truth from Sonny.)
Now the block is filled with expensive bars, and the Candle Building, mecca of street art, has been bought by one Lachlan Murdoch. Yes, Smithers, the son of the world's most evil man.
Who knows when he'll whitewash it and replace anthropology with an Anthropologie? So pour one out for the old neighborhood as you go by. I'm sorry I won't be in town for the walk.
