It's not just blogs either. I met a Chinese exchange student two years ago who first discovered Google when she moved to Canada. She was amazed that her government would block access to such an innocuous, yet useful, search enginge. I will never forget the look of rapture on her face when she told us, "I love Google."
I think I heard that China now has a watered-down version of Google that only blocks information on certain subjects--you know, like Tiennamen Square.

i guess the simple answer is i'm a female cultural studies grad living in Canada, currently having lots of time and open sky to contend with.
