49 fucking people got arrested! jeeez. including freaking jessica and ryan! so on the anniversary of the RNC critical mass when the roundups began they started arresting people 10 minutes into the ride. it was a pretty scary feeling at the beginning, with the cops indiscriminately driving black SUV's through the crowd, changing lanes a lot so they could use that annoying whoop sounding siren. the cyclists were also running every red, as opposed to july's mass where people stopped at lights. so. angry cops, daring cyclists. bad combo. i cut out early and missed all the arrests but the reports sound pretty bad. more on bikeblog.
