MONTREAL!

SO! Friday O'Death played with the Goddamn Rattlesnake, Joey Royale filling in for Poorboy Johnson. It was rad. Saturday I was at this conference all day and punked out Saturday night. Sunday I was supposed to go on a bike ride to the hamptons but on account of rain and my friend Matthew's spontaneity we drove to Montreal instead. I was so sure that between my friends Richy, David, Joshia, Pat, Cavin and Luke I could find some fun and a place to crash. But! UnfortunatelyI chose the wrong night to roll in and everybody wason tour, incommunicado, and generally out of town. ooops. We rolled through saw mad eurotrash seeming kids. weird. I couldn't find the so-called hipster haven people talk about, because it totally wasn't like that. I guess everywhere is like that--interesting people and fun stuff to do interspersed between lame shit. Monday I picked up the vice guide to montreal and realized it was the best possible thing i could have found in a city where i didn't know anyone. We found a cafe owned by one of the guys from godspeed you! black emperor. it was very vegan friendly and awesome. they had 2 other venues called la sala rosa and another (can't remember the name) where super awesome bands play. anyway, this pic is of the line of cars trying to get across the border. all in all it was a fun adventure.
