For tonight: Come see me speak at Barnard & see the film "Speak Out: I Had an Abortion" From the antleredlist: What's up antlertown? Hope everyone had a rager weekend. This week has lots of fun stuff in store, beginning with this lovely evening. ||||||||||||||||||||||||WEDNESDAY|||||||||||||||||||||||| I'm in a film called "Speak Out: I Had an Abortion" which will screen at Columbia on Wednesday. I'm speaking after the screening, along with the filmmakers, so please come. It's also my adorably lovely alma mater. So come. Free & open to the public. When: Wednesday, November 9th at 8pm Where: The James Room (414 Barnard Hall) 3009 Broadway between 116th & 117th streets. What: Underneath the din of politicians posturing about "life" and "choice," beyond activists yelling about murder and rights, there are the stories of women who have had abortions. The documentary Speak Out: I Had an Abortion features 11 women, ages 21 to 85, telling their abortion experience. 1.3 million women get abortions each year in the U.S. alone. For most it is a secret. The debate itself is loud and paralyzing while the voices of the women who get abortions are submerged. "Speak Out: I Had an Abortion," directed by Gillian Aldrich and co-produced by Aldrich and Jennifer Baumgardner, documents the stories of 11 women ranging in age from 21 to 85. The film cuts across race, religion, region, class, sexuality, and politics--demonstrating that abortion affects all women. http://www.speakoutfilms.com ||||||||||||||||||||||||THURSDAY|||||||||||||||||||||||| 1) My dear friends have created this rad art project called "The Yellow Arrow Project" and will be having a launch for version 2 this Thursday.
