if you have a real interest in law and lawyering and you can figure out how to pay for it, do it. at some schools, if you agree to do public interest law for a few years, you get free or nearly-free tuition.
or maybe you can go to detective school and become a detective instead. secret life of fedora'd girls.
I think if it's really what you want to do with your life, than go for it. But you should think about the financials, especially if you want to be a do good lawyer, since you probably won't make nearly as much money.
It's the road I'm on, so if you want to talk about it, drop me a line anytime, it's still the same number and emai.
damn everybody knows i need a lawyer every two years, so go for it. But for the do good part, its true yer gunna be in debt and have to go into some shitty corporate law job, nah i think you have better sense than that, can you pay back loans as a public defender??
one thing i can't find much to contradict is that one of the few positions in society to wield real power is that of a lawyer. which of course leads to the quesiton of how do you use that power once you attain it, corporate evil or warrior of the people? it's good to have ambitions for your future, rather than just trying to find the office job that's the coziest. worried about debt? well that's the american way. and i'm sure your resourcefulness could procure some pretty substantial financial assistance.
you should talk to gideon, that boy could lay it out real well for you.
and on a personal note, ever since my little ADD-hyperactive-sporty-spice sister started law school, it's been the first time i have ever seen her interested and motivated about something besides basketball. as she put it to me on my last visit, "everyday i go to class and they tell me secrets. it's so interesting."

Do it. I've had fantasies of doing it, myself. You try it and tell me how you like it.
