I TOTALLY LOVE CHUCK PALAHNIUK.
he's an incredible crazy man. i've been consuming his novels with a psychotic addictive voracious love since i read invisible monsters. now when i read a new one of his books it's all i do. i read it in the shower, on the train, while walking, in the bathroom, i sneak it at work, i stay up late into the night, i blow off plans. it's fucking weird. when he read at columbia 4 people had to be hospitalized because of their disgust and subsequent seizures from listening to him read an excerpt from his forthcoming book 'GUTS.' read this article on him.

after all this time, my first antlered post. december 14th was such a very long time ago - you already liked chuck though. in fact i remember the antlered girl extolling his virtues to none other than hatchet reviewer (and sweet man) dale peck.
i only know his work through the david fincher movie, which was striking, but seemed very simplistic in positing that men have been emasculated by consumerism - i mean, hummers, and rifles and 'vice city: san andreas' and 'sin city' (and even 'fight club') are all forms of macho consumerism, right? did the movie simplify a more complex take on these things? should i just go read the book? i would like to know more about what you love about chuck...
