Speak Out: I Had an Abortion
Underneath the din of politicians posturing about "life" and "choice," beyond activists yelling about murder and rights, there are the stories of women who have had abortions. The documentary Speak Out: I Had an Abortion features 11 women, ages 21 to 85, telling their abortion experience.
Following the film, producers Jennifer Baumgardner and Gillian Aldrich will be on-hand to talk about the film and answer audience questions.
After Drudge/Daily Mail posted this today, I think it's important to remember how much the mainstream discourse on abortion is missing the point by focusing on outlier cases which are nonetheless examples of women who should be allowed to have access to safe and legal abortion. With 80,000 women dying each year due to lack of access to safe and legal abortions you'd think some of these rabid conservatives would grow a conscience. They don't.
